Come On A Board! County Needs You For Advisory Posts
Spokane County is seeking candidates for several open advisory board seats. The seats include:
Chase Youth Commission, three one-year seats open for youths and one three-year seat open for an adult.
Community Services Substance Abuse Board, two openings.
Board of Equalization, two openings.
Historical Landmarks Commission, one opening, requires demonstrated experience and/or interest in historic preservation.

Newcomers Club meets
Thursday The Spokane Valley Newcomers Club will hold a social gathering and luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Conley’s Restaurant, 12622 E. Sprague. For reservations or information, call 922-5785 by Monday.

The Spokane Valley Newcomers Club is a social organization for women in the Valley.
Zoning request meeting topic
SCOPE University will hold its monthly community meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday at the University High School library, 10212 E. Ninth Ave.
SCOPE member Tom Knudsen will speak about a proposal to rezone and develop a 13.75-acre lot south of 16th Avenue and east of Dishman-Mica Road.

Ballet master to teach class
The Academy of Dance will hold a one-time ballet class taught by ballet master Daniel Job from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday at its studio at 14214 E. Sprague.
The class is for intermediate and advanced ballet students and costs $10 for students of Inland Nortwest Dance Association schools and $15 for students of non-member schools. Job has danced with the Ballets de Marseille and the Royal Danish Ballet.
He was associate director of the School of Cleveland Ballet and ballet master of the Scottish Ballet du Nord. He is now ballet master at the Universal Ballet.

Valley Baseball coaches meeting
Spokane Valley Baseball League will conduct its first coaches meeting, Monday at 7 p.m.
The meeting is in the Evergreen Junior High cafeteria, 14221 E. 16th.
All returning coaches and prospective new coaches are asked to attend.
