Valley Man Held In Burglary, Assault

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Ruben Valdez on Friday on charges of first-degree burglary and fourth-degree assault.

The 24-year-old Valley man lives in an apartment at 216 S. Whipple.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to the apartment after a fellow tenant reported that a man had just broken down her front door and entered the apartment to find his wife.

The woman had let the suspect’s wife inside to use the phone, sheriff’s deputies said.

When deputies arrived, they found the door kicked in. Valdez and his wife were both gone.

Deputies located Valdez next door and arrested him.
