Mark Calcavecchia leads after the third round of the Honda Classic in Coral Springs, Fla.

Calcavecchia made four birdies on the front nine to surge to the front of the pack and held on for a 4-under-par 68, giving him 205 and a one-stroke lead over Vijay Singh, who had a bogey-free 68.

Hubert Green - winless since the 1985 PGA Championship - shot a 5-under par 66 to take a one-stroke lead after two rounds at the Toshiba Senior PGA Classic in Newport Beach, Calif.

Green stood 9-under at 133 with 18 holes remaining. Jim Albus, a candidate for the tour’s Comeback Player of the Year award, shot a 65 to move into second place.

Helen Alfredsson shot a 2-under-par 70 to maintain her lead in the LPGA Welch’s-Circle K Championship in Tucson, Ariz.

Alfredsson’s 54-hole score of 14-under 202 was enough for a one-shot edge on local star Chris Johnson. Johnson shot a low round of 67, but was prevented from sharing the lead by a bogey on the next-to-last hole.

Rathdrum’s Tracy Hanson was at 216 after a 75.
