Inmate Escaped From Tent Jail

From Staff And Wire Reports

Sheriff’s deputies are searching for an inmate who escaped from the Grant County tent jail.

Authorities said 23-year-old Salvador Torres Ceja walked away from the tent facility in Ephrata, Wash., on Saturday. He was serving time on a traffic offense, but prosecutors may now charge him with first-degree escape.

Sheriff William Wiester erected the tent jail in summer 1996 after the county jail ran out of space. Only one other person has escaped from the facility.

Ceja is Hispanic, about 5 feet 6 inches tall and 140 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 754-2011. , DataTimes
