Utah People Back Taxes
A majority of Utah residents support using tax dollars to ensure the success of the 2002 Winter Olympics, a poll found.
Of those responding to the Deseret News poll, 69 percent said they would favor spending tax dollars on police and security for the Olympics. Only 51 percent favor spending tax money on arts and cultural programs in connection with the Games.
The poll, published Monday, was conducted by Dan Jones & Associates March 6-11. Six-hundred state residents were surveyed, and the poll had a 4 percent margin of error.
