Ex-WSU Prof Sentenced In Waste Dumping

From Staff And Wire Reports

A former Washington State University professor has been sentenced to prison for illegally disposing of hazardous waste while operating an environmental testing facility, officials said Friday.

Abdul Azim Khan was sentenced last week in U.S. District Court here to four months in prison, plus four months’ home detention and three years’ supervised release. He also was ordered to pay restitution of $31,044 for the hazardous-waste cleanup.

At the time he was charged, Khan was the owner and operator of Precision Analytics Inc., a state-certified environmental testing facility. The company analyzed hazardous-waste samples from the military and various corporations.
