Chicago Bears defensive end Alonzo Spellman has been released from the psychiatric unit where he was hospitalized after bizarre behavior this month.

Spellman will receive daily outpatient treatment for a condition described by one source as “highly treatable.”

Randall Cunningham will return next season as a backup quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings. He has agreed to a two-year, $2 million contract.
