NEW FACES:

Stephanie Crosswhite has joined Spokane Federal Credit Union as member relations specialist, providing service to the credit union’s core membership group. Crosswhite, who has a degree in communications from Washington State University, was previously with Seafirst Bankcard Services.

The Community Colleges of Spokane’s Institute for Extended Learning has hired the following people for its Training and Education Coordinating Center:

Tammy Cook was named program manager for computer training services. She oversees daily operation of the institute’s mobile training unit, IEL computer training labs and contract training to business and industry. Cook previously was certification programs manager and a certified Novell instructor for Future Enterprises Inc. in Washington, D.C.

Yvonne Moon joined the center as a computer training specialist and support staff team member. Moon’s background includes information technology training, plus data base and curriculum development with companies like Emerging Technology Sales and Lam Research in California.

Dr. Bardo Sanchez Jr. has joined the medical staff of Holy Family Hospital in the practice of internal medicine. He received his medical degree from the Brown University College of Medicine and completed an internal medicine residency at The Miriam Hospital in Providence, R.I. Sanchez, who is board certified in internal medicine, has joined Drs. Byrd, Kramp, Lochner and Hurley at 318 E. Rowan.

Dr. Mark Jones has joined North Pines Chiropractic Clinic. He completed his undergraduate and pre-med studies at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma and then graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. Jones will practice with his father, Dr. David Jones, also a Palmer graduate, at North Pines Chiropractic Clinic.

William Bauman has been named network manager for PacifiCare of Washington’s Spokane branch. Bauman, who has 26 years of experience in the managed health care industry, will be responsible for maintaining PacifiCare’s provider relationships in Eastern Washington and negotiating provider contracts. He was formerly the director of contracting and strategic planning for QualMed Health Plan in Spokane.

MOVING UP:

Washington Trust Bank has promoted the following personnel:

William Hawley was named senior vice president, Private Banking Group. A vice president in private banking since 1986, Hawley became manager in 1991. He will oversee the expanded Private Banking Group, which now includes Trust, Asset Management Services and Private Banking. Hawley joined Washington Trust in 1970.

Tom Nesbitt has been promoted to vice president and senior trust investment officer. Nesbitt, who is a chartered financial analyst, joined the bank in 1993.

Susan Satterlee has been promoted to vice president of the Private Banking Group. She has more than 19 years of trust and banking experience.

Steve Scranton was named vice president and trust investment officer. He has 20 years of banking experience and is a chartered financial analyst.

Jeffrey Dawson was promoted to retail banking officer and branch sales manager. Dawson, who has nine years of banking and finance experience, is currently sales manager at the Sullivan branch.

Renne Ditton has been promoted to cash management and international banking officer. She has been in the banking industry since 1983.

STARTING UP:

Linda Oien has relocated her management consulting practice from Edmonds, Wash., to Spokane. Oien, the founder of Business Paths, helps clients organize and run their business efficiently. She has 25 years of experience with Fortune 500 companies. Her office is located at 129 E. Rockwell.

TLCP Structural Inc., an Arizona-based consulting structural engineering firm, has opened a branch office in Spokane. The new office, called TLCP Galvin Structural Inc., will be managed by Jim Galvin. He has more than 14 years of engineering experience and was recently a senior project engineer at PPL Coffman of Spokane. The new office provides a complete range of services, starting with preliminary design schemes and continuing through construction observation.

ELECTED:

Spokane Area Economic Development Council officers and board members for 1998 include: Chairman, Sterling Haskins, Haskins Co.; vice chair, Mike Taylor, Taylor Engineering; and secretary/treasurer, Marshall Farnell, Spokane County. New board members elected for a three-year term include: Don Enemark, Metropolitan Mortgage; Kathy Kopczick, Coopers and Lybrand; John Moloney Jr., Moloney, O’Neill Corkery and Jones; John Schleede, Eastern Washington University; Alonzo White, Washington State University; and John White, CXT Inc. Board members re-nominated for a three-year term include: Jim Coulson, The Coeur d’Alenes Co.; Frank Tombari, Farmers and Merchants Bank; Doug Osborn, The Spokesman-Review; Julie Prafke, Humanix Personnel Services; Eric Davis, Washington Trust Bank; and Dennis Scott, Spokane County. John Wagner of Seafirst Bank was re-nominated for a two-year term.

KUDOS:

The Spokane Area Economic Development Council has presented Extra Mile Awards to six people who made special contributions to EDC recruitment efforts. Recipients include: Bill Pupo, City of Spokane; Fritz Wolff, Alvin J. Wolff Inc.; Sharon Olson and John Becker, both of Windermere Real Estate; Tom Barbieri of Goodale and Barbieri Cos.; and Jan Ekstrom of Janek Co.
