Killer A Suspect In Home-Invasion Robbery

Spokane police are searching for a convicted killer who is a suspect in a home-invasion robbery.

Joseph Ray Lamere, 31, is wanted on two warrants charging him with first-degree robbery, police said Tuesday.

Detectives said Lamere is one of two gunmen who broke into a house in northwest Spokane last week and robbed the residents of electronic equipment and money. The other bandit has not been identified.

Lamere has a criminal record that includes more than 30 convictions, police said.

In 1993, he pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the stabbing death of a Spokane drug dealer. He served three years of a five-year prison sentence and was released in October 1996.

Anyone with information on Lamere’s whereabouts is asked to call Secret Witness at 327-5111. A cash reward is being offered for information that leads to his arrest.
