Kirby Kehoe Pleads Innocent To Charges

From Staff And Wire Reports

The father of Chevie and Cheyne Kehoe pleaded innocent Thursday to four new firearms charges filed after loaded guns and live hand grenades were seized from his camper truck.

Kirby K. Kehoe, 49, entered the pleas before U.S. Magistrate Judge Cynthia Imbrogno to two counts of possessing unregistered firearms, one count of possessing a machine gun and one count of transportation of firearms while under indictment.

Kehoe, who is being held without bond in the Spokane County Jail, was indicted by a federal grand jury on Wednesday.

He was arrested March 7 near Springdale, about 40 miles northwest of Spokane in Stevens County, after promising Imbrogno at an earlier hearing that he would remain in his hometown of Yaak, Mont., while awaiting trial on an earlier firearms charge in that state.

As a condition of being released without bond last September, he wasn’t supposed to have firearms.

Agents who searched Kehoe’s vehicle and camper - which he had shared with his wife and six youngest sons - seized two live hand grenades and five guns, authorities said.

Kehoe is the father of Chevie and Cheyne Kehoe, who were convicted in 1997 shootouts with police in Ohio. The shootouts were videotaped and broadcast nationwide. , DataTimes
