Superfund A Topic For Waterfront Group
Members of a Spokane River waterfront owners group have invited staffers from federal and state environmental agencies and a representative from the mining industry to talk about the possible extension of the Kellogg Superfund site at their annual meeting.
The meeting of the Spokane River Property Owners Association will take place May 12.
Representatives from the Environmental Protection Agency, the Idaho Division of Environmental Quality and the Coeur d’Alene Basin Mining Information Office will talk about the impacts extending the Superfund site could have. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at Cavanaughs Templin’s Resort Hotel. An accompanying banquet begins at 6:30 and costs $15 per person. The program begins at 7 p.m. and is free of charge. Reservations are requested, but some additional seating will be available.
