New Mcdonald’S Underway

A new McDonald’s restaurant is under construction at Crown Centre, the planned retail development at the Spokane Business and Industrial Park.

Crews broke ground on the new 3,400-square foot restaurant this week. It should be open by July 20, said Cory Ray, director of operations for Spokane Food Services, which owns all McDonald’s in the Spokane area.

The store is part of the Crown Centre complex, a 21-acre mixed-use development on the west side of the industrial park. The development along Sullivan Road also includes a Maid O’Clover convenience store, a gas station, a warehouse, a 60-room Radisson hotel and restaurant.

Ray said he expects the restaurant to attract customers from the business park and beyond.

“There’s a lot more traffic running on Sullivan from the mall up to Bigelow Gulch,” Ray said. The area is just booming.”

Apartment complex expands

The second phase of the Beau-Rivage Apartments, just west of the Upriver Dam on Upriver Drive, began this week.

Beau-Rivage Development, owners and developers, plans to add 108 apartments to the 132 units completed in January.

The 16-acre site sits just north of the Spokane River along the Centennial Trail. Currently the one- and two-bedroom apartments in 11 separate buildings rent for between $480 and $595 per month.

Developers anticipate the second phase, which includes nine separate buildings, will be complete this fall.

Edward Jones office opens

A third Edward Jones investment office opened this week at Sullivan Square on the southwest corner of Sullivan and Sprague.

Investment representative Roger Pugh, who moved to Spokane from Bellingham last summer, opened the two-person shop.

The company wanted to expand eastward to the Sullivan corridor, he said.

“There was nothing else on the Sullivan corridor but here,” he said.

Another office is in the works in Liberty Lake, but no location has been selected.
