Colville National Forest

A series of family-oriented fishing festivals is scheduled for the spring and summer, sponsored by the Colville National Forest.

The events include contests and learning activities, with prizes donated by local and national sponsors, said Karen Honeycutt, Forest Service fisheries biologist.

The festivals are scheduled at the following forest lakes in northeastern Washington:

May 9, Lake Ellen, 8 a.m.-noon. Info: (509) 738-7700, or (509) 684-7000.

May 16, Swan Lake, 8 a.m.-noon. Info: (509) 775-3305.

June 13, Big Meadow Lake, 8 a.m.-noon. Info: (509) 446-7500.

August 8, South Skookum Lake, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Info: (509) 447-7300.
