Row Floats Bruneau

Whitwater rafting

River Odyssey’s West, based in Coeur d’Alene, has added a 14th river - the Bruneau - to its repertoire of whitewater rafting adventure.

The remote waterway, a tributary of the Snake in southwest Idaho, runs through an area called the Sistine Chapel of canyon lands.

Because of its limited seasonal flow, only three, four-day, 40-mile trips can be staged. Departures are May 31, June 5 and 11.

Ten adventurers can ride the rapids for $1,100 apiece. Included are Boise airport transfers, three nights of tent camping, four lunches, three breakfasts, three dinners, guides and all requisite equipment.

The Bruneau is a Class 3-4 river, with Class 1 being easy and Class 6 suicidal. Info: (800) 451-6034 or (208) 765-0841.
