‘Fair And Efficient County Government’

COVER LETTER

To the position of Kootenai County Commissioners, I will continue to provide leadership and organizational abilities attained through many years in positions of authority. These extend over 40 years and include being a business owner and making a payroll; managing a large chamber of commerce; directing a state political organization, employment as a management consultant and a county and state president of tax reform associations. These, and other positions, have required me to be knowledgable in all forms of state and local taxation, as well as the budgeting process. I have used this knowledge to represent taxpayer’s concerns before the Idaho legislature for over 20 years.

Since being elected in 1996 to the position of Kootenai County Commissioner, my main accomplishment has been participating as a member of the Board of Equalization and judging the fairness of property tax assessments which has resulted in the reduction of millions of dollars of unfair tax assessments.

My door will always be open to anyone having a question or problem with county government. I have worked with the other commissioners to achieve a balance growth between residential, commercial and industrial development, while protecting private property rights. I was grateful, as a Marine Corps combat veteran, to spearhead the privately-funded Veterans Memorial Plaza and monument, at the courthouse, to honor those killed while protecting our freedom.

With enthusiasm for the work at hand, I go to my office at the county courthouse everyday representing the people’s interest in achieving a fair and efficient county government. I would appreciate your vote so that I may continue serving the best interests of the taxpayers in the capacity of county commissioner for the next four years. Thank you.
