New faces:

McFarland & Alton P.S. has added the following people to its staff:

Tricia Cloke was named an auditor and will specialize in the construction industry. A graduate of Washington State University, she was assistant office manager for Cloke Home Improvement Center before joining McFarland & Alton.

Carolyn Lineback was hired as a tax accountant specializing in cost segregation services. She previously was office manager at U.S. Rep. George Nethercutt’s office in Washington, D.C.

Gregg Amend joined the firm as an auditor. His duties will include auditing and consulting work. Amend, a graduate of Whitworth College, previously worked as a college agent for Northwestern Mutual Life.

Chad Conklin was named an assistant accountant for financial institutions and the telecommunications industry. His duties include auditing in the financial institutions services group and the Telecom Group.

Susan E. Moore was hired as a senior accountant. Moore, who is a certified public accountant and graduate of Oregon State University, will specialize in the health care service group for auditing and retirement plan services. She previously was senior/ supervisor at a public accounting firm in Vancouver, Wash.

Ann M. Deno joined the firm to handle auditing and consulting work for the tax department. Deno, who is a graduate of Eastern Washington University, previously was A/R manager at SRS Roofers Supply Inc.

Daniela Gozzola was hired as a staff accountant. Her duties will include compilations, reviews and consulting work. Gozzola, who is a graduate of Gonzaga University, previously worked for Egghead as A/R supervisor.

Andreas John has joined Silver Country Inc. as director of marketing programs. He will oversee advertising, graphic design and reservation system sales for the adventure tourism marketing corporation, based in Wallace, Idaho. Prior to joining Silver Country, John was director of marketing for Rich Sprague Associates in Coeur d’Alene.

The following people have been approved for membership in the Spokane County Medical Society:

Dr. Paul M. Caskey has joined Shriner’s Hospital for Children as the assistant chief of staff in the practice of orthopedic surgery. Caskey graduated from the University of Wisconsin Medical School, completed an internship and residency at McLaren General Hospital and a fellowship at the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Crippled Children.

Dr. James E. Damon has joined Franklin Park Minor Emergency in the practice of orthopedics and emergency medicine. He graduated from the University of Illinois, completed an internship at Columbia Hospital and a residency at New York University.

Dr. Darrol K. Hval has joined Spokane Emergency Medical Associates in the practice of emergency medicine. He graduated from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences and completed an internship and residency at Sacred Heart Medical Center.

Dr. Bardomiano Sanchez Jr. has joined Dr. Byrd, Kramp, Lochner & Hurley in the practice of internal medicine. He graduated from Brown University and completed an internship and residency at The Miriam Hospital.

Dr. Maj G. Stormogipson has joined Valley Young People’s Clinic in the practice of pediatrics. She graduated from Dartmouth Medical School, completed an internship at Harbor UCLA Medical Center and a residency at the University of California at San Francisco.

Dr. Minerva Arrienda has joined Spokane Mental Health in the practice of psychiatry. She graduated from Manila Central University and completed an internship and residency at the Winnebago Mental Health Institute.

Moving up:

Mary Jane Parry has been named a principal with the law firm of Turner, Stoeve & Gagliardi P.S. Parry interned with the firm from 1993 until graduation from Gonzaga University School of Law and admission to the Washington State Bar in 1995, when she became an associate. Her practice focuses primarily on ERISA, insurance defense and probate.

Tammy Reid has been named vice president for academic affairs at Whitworth College. Reid, a 1960 Whitworth graduate, previously was the interim chief academic officer and dean of the faculty at Whitworth. She joined the faculty as an assistant professor of education and English in 1975.

Spokane Public Schools has named Mark Anderson associate superintendent of management services. Anderson succeeds Walt Rulffes, who took a new position with the Clark County School District in Las Vegas, Nev. Anderson joined the district as assistant superintendent for human resources in 1994.

Starting up:

D.A. Davidson & Co. has opened an office in the Quail Run Office Building, 2204 E. 29th. Bob Cummings, Spokane branch manager, will oversee the new office. Office staff include:

Paul Dumais, vice president, financial consultant. Dumais, a Gonzaga University graduate, was associated with Murphey Favre of Spokane before joining D.A. Davidson.

Merilee Frets, financial consultant. Frets, who transferred from the firm’s downtown Spokane office, has been a financial consultant with DAD since 1992.

Joan Cassano, registered associate. Cassano, who attended Washington State University, has been in the securities industry since 1984.

Nancy Anderson, sales assistant. Anderson, who also transferred from DAD’s downtown office, joined the company in 1995.

John Hartman has opened Camas Creek Productions in Potlatch, Idaho, to help businesses and individuals establish a presence on the World Wide Web. The company will offer all aspects of Web site and graphics production, including site maintenance and consultation. Hartman has experience in Java, html code, CGI scripts, graphics and animation, page format and Web site access counts. Dr. Gregory F. Benoit has purchased South Care Animal Clinic on the South Hill. Benoit, who has practiced veterinary medicine in Washington for eight years, received his professional training at Washington State University. Before acquiring South Care, he was a veterinarian with Garland Animal Clinic.
