Two Teens Nearly Hit By Gunfire
Two Spokane teenagers were nearly hit with gunfire while sleeping in their homes in two unrelated incidents this week.
A bullet just missed a 17-year-old sleeping in his East Central Spokane home early Thursday, police said. The teen was asleep near a window in a house on East Hartson about 6:30 a.m. Thursday when a bullet came through the window, police said.
Officers found a shotgun shell and wadding from the shell inside the home, police said.
Early Friday, a bullet that came through the roof and ceiling of a northwest Spokane home lodged in a bed where a teenager was sleeping, police said.
Officers were called to a home in the 8600 block of North Forest Boulevard about 6 a.m. after the unidentified 16-year-old was awakened by a loud noise.
The teen found a bullet next to him lodged in the bed, police said.
Family members in the home found a hole in the roof and ceiling above the bed. Officers believe someone in the area fired a gun into the air and the stray bullet hit the home.
