Ching Nets Three Goals In Shadow Win

Brian Ching scored all three of Spokane’s goals as the Shadow defeated Yakima 3-2 Saturday in the final preseason game.

The Shadow, which finished the preseason 2-2, opens the regular season next Saturday at Albi Stadium against Abbotsford Action of Vancouver, British Columbia. Game time is 7:05 p.m.

Alika Cosner helped put the Shadow up 1-0 when he beat his man on the right side and crossed to a waiting Ching, who headed the ball into the far post for the only goal of the first half.

Yakima’s Casey Rain tied the score early in the second half, but Kieran Barton fed Ching 3 minutes later to put the Shadow back on top. Ching wrapped up the win with a shot from the penalty area on a pass from Cosner.
