Upcoming projects give hikers and other trail users a chance to join the crowd and improve a trail.

May 30, the Panhandle National Forests are organizing a mass volunteer trail maintenance day to sites within an hour’s drive from Coeur d’Alene. Contact Andy Boggs, (208) 769-3000.

June 6, REI is sponsoring a service project to improve trails at Mount Spokane State Park. Volunteers will earn a T-shirt and free lunch. Sign up at REI, 1125 N. Monroe. Info: 328-9900.
