Suspects And Victims Under Investigation
A Valley man who chased four teenage burglars from his house Saturday may have more than stolen property to worry about.
The teens ran off with a potted marijuana plant.
Deputies who responded to a burglary call in the 18000 block of East Mission Avenue discovered florescent lights, foiled walls, fans and other suspected marijuana-growing materials in the victims’ basement.
They arrested two Valley teens, age 16 and 17, for residential burglary. But, deputies also began an investigation of the victims, and confiscated their lights, fans and other equipment.
Neighbors told police they saw four teenage boys, including two neighborhood boys, climbing through a rear window of the house at about 4:30 p.m. Saturday. The owners of the home, a married couple, found the boys inside. The husband chased the burglars across a church lot and a horse pasture before losing them, deputies said.
Officers found the potted marijuana plant discarded nearby. They traced one of the teens to his home and discovered three other teenagers hiding in his basement.
The investigation continues.
