Aryan Nations Granted Permit For Cda Parade
Idaho State Police and Kootenai County Sheriff’s deputies will be asked to help city police deal with the Aryan Nations’ parade.
But that’s absolutely routine, “like we would for any special event - Fourth of July or Memorial Day,” Coeur d’Alene Police Chief Dave Scates said.
Earlier this week the city granted the Aryan Nations a permit to have the parade on July 18 beginning at 10 a.m. It will start at Independence Point, go down Sherman Avenue to Seventh Street, around the block and back down Sherman Avenue to Independence Point.
The Aryan Nations first applied for a parade permit for an April event, but then weren’t able to put up the required deposit. The group then applied for a July 25 date to coincide with the Aryan World Congress in Hayden Lake.
That application was denied because downtown merchant had earlier applied for an event permit for that day.
