2 High School Seniors Charged In Bomb Plot
Two high school seniors were charged Tuesday with plotting to bomb their graduation ceremony.
Word of the alleged plot prompted the cancellation of Sunday’s commencement for about 100 students at St. Mary’s High School.
William J. Dotson and Jesse W. Shingleton, both 18, were charged Tuesday with conspiracy to violate federal explosives law.
Sheriff’s officers seized what they said were bomb-making chemicals from Dotson’s home May 2.
U.S. Attorney William Wilmoth would not elaborate on the plot.
The ceremony was rescheduled for Thursday.
