Auction To Benefit Trinity

Here’s a chance to get all your holiday shopping done before Thanksgiving.

Trinity Catholic School’s 19th annual auction will be Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. in the auditorium of Gonzaga Prep, 1224 E. Euclid. Tickets include a “south of the border” dinner, champagne, an item catalog and bidding number.

Before Monday, tickets are $15 each. After that, the price jumps to $17.50 each.

The evening will begin with a silent auction. Items up for bid include jewelry, crafts, a John Stockton autographed basketball, sky box seating at a Chiefs game and an accountant’s services for completing 1998 tax returns.

“We have a great potpourri of stuff,” said Michael Alegria, publicity chairperson for the auction.

Proceeds from the auction, which is the school’s major fund-raiser, go toward Trinity’s operating budget. Last year, the school netted $30,000, Alegria said.

The oral auction will begin at 8 p.m. with bids on the big-ticket items, such as a car donated by Nissan. The door prize will be 100 auction dollars.
