Historical Markers To Be Spruced Up

Spokane Preservation Advocates will tackle another “Doing It” project Saturday, cleaning historical markers along roads in Spokane County.

Some of the tall granite markers, which tell of historic events at sites throughout the county, are buried under brush, have been defaced or just need cleaning, said co-chair Lori Nicol Bingham.

The group invites anyone interested in helping to meet at 9 a.m. at the southeast corner of the Safeway parking lot at Third and Maple.
