Head-On Collision Kills Pickup Driver

A 22-year-old St. Maries, Idaho, man died Sunday in a wreck on U.S. Highway 95 in Benewah County, Idaho State Police said.

The collision occurred about 2 p.m. near Moscow. Mark Allen Ward II was driving north on U.S. 95 in a pickup when he drifted into the southbound lane and struck another pickup head-on, troopers said.

Ward died at the scene.

His passenger, 21-year-old Margaret Ward-Schiley, was slightly injured. She was taken by ambulance to Gritman Memorial Hospital in Moscow where she was admitted for observation, a nursing supervisor said.

Two people riding in the pickup struck by Ward also suffered minor injuries. The driver, 47-year-old Michael Damery of Colfax, Wash., was treated and released at Gritman Memorial, as was his passenger, 43-year-old Molly Rice of Moscow.
