Plane Forced To Make Emergency Landing
A DC-10 was forced to make an emergency landing at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on Sunday because of an engine problem, an airline spokeswoman said.
There were no reported injuries.
Northwest Airlines flight 50 to Detroit turned back 40 minutes after leaving SeaTac when there was a spike in the reading for one of the engines, said airline spokeswoman Martha Laughlin.
The spike was caused by a compressor stall, she said, adding that earlier reports that lightning struck the plane were incorrect.
