Events Mark Veterans Day

Several events are planned in the Spokane area to mark Veterans Day today, including:

A 10:30 a.m. ceremony today at the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena, 702 W. Mallon. Those wishing to attend are asked to assemble at 10 a.m.

Purple Heart presentation to Robert W. Thresher, a World War II veteran, at 1:30 p.m. today at the VA Medical Center, 4815 N. Assembly.

A booth providing information about veterans and the sale of inscribed tiles for the World War II memorial planned in Olympia. The information will be available today beginning at 9 a.m. at County Homes Power Equipment, 8108 N. Division. Call 466-9100 for more information.
