Roadkill Ahead

Staff

Wildlife

Fall is one of the peak times of year for deer-car collisions. As deer begin to move around to find food and to breed, they are more susceptible to being hit by a car.

During the heat of the summer, deer tend to move less and stay in the woods under tree cover where it is cool.

As temperatures drop, deer become more active. People see more deer this time of year than at any other time, and, unfortunately, many of them are along roadsides.
