Cusick Bond Measure Passes In Final Counting
An up-and-down bond measure in the Cusick School District squeaked to victory Wednesday after a final round of absentee-ballot counting.
The $2.4 million construction bond proposal passed with 60.21 percent support, 460-304.
It needed at least 60 percent support to pass.
The measure had 61.9 percent support on election night, but slipped below 60 percent the next day when more absentee ballots were counted. It moved back above 60 percent in a third round of counting, and held onto the victory in Wednesday’s fourth count.
In Stevens County, election officials said Wednesday that a proposal to establish an emergency medical service levy in Fire District 8 required 60 percent support instead of 50 percent as previously reported. Either way, the levy failed as its support slipped from 52.1 percent to 49.7 percent.
