House Split Evenly Between Parties

From Staff

Republicans and Democrats will share control of the Washington House for the second time in state history, the final but unofficial ballot count from the state’s 39 counties showed Wednesday.

Although election results still must be certified by Secretary of State Ralph Munro, the numbers confirmed what Democrats and Republicans already have concluded - when the House convenes in January, 49 members will be Democrats and 49 Republicans.
