Projects Range From Highbrow To High-Tech Excel Grants Handed Out To 23 Coeur D’Alene School Projects

Programs allowing students to create digital videos and learn the calming effects of Mozart were among the Coeur d’Alene School District projects awarded $28,000 in EXCEL Foundation grants Wednesday.

A total of 23 grants were awarded, including $4,624 to Mike Clabby of Lake City High School to buy digital video equipment and a $227.26 grant to Carolyn Keefer of Ramsey Elementary to study the effects of Mozart’s music.

EXCEL Foundation grants honor Coeur d’Alene teachers who are using creative and innovative classroom techniques. Since 1986, the foundation has awarded $365,970 for 319 projects.
