First-Place Journalism

Mon., Nov. 23, 1998

Last Tuesday, as part of a high school journalism writing competition, students from 14 schools in North Idaho and western Montana wrote editorials, news stories, feature stories and sports stories. The top editorials were published Sunday. Today, we are publishing the first-place finishers in news, features and sports. On Tuesday we will publish the second-place finishers, and on Wednesday the third-place finishers.

Local journalism is essential.
