Man With Knife Robs Two Stores
A robber wielding a kitchen knife hit two Spokane businesses Saturday night, escaping each time with cash, but injuring no one, according to Spokane police.
In both robberies, witnesses described the suspect as a white male in his late 20s, with a medium build, blond hair and a San Francisco cap. The man was about 5 feet 7 inches tall and 160 pounds.
The suspect walked into the 7-Eleven at 323 W. Indiana Ave. at 6:45 p.m. Saturday, threatened the clerk with a kitchen knife then jumped on the counter and attempted to open the cash register.
Unable to open it, he pulled it to the floor where it broke open. He grabbed an undisclosed amount of money and ran, according to police reports.
At 7:30 p.m., a man carrying a kitchen knife threatened an employee at JB’s Foods at 5503 N. Alberta St. He took an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register and left.
The knife blade was about seven inches long.
Police searched the area, but couldn’t locate the suspect.
