Ferry and Stevens counties will receive an additional $400,000 in federal disaster aid for flooding that caused widespread damage last spring.

Much of the money is expected to go toward repairing washed-out roads, regional disaster officials said.

Public agencies in Ferry and Stevens counties are eligible for federal aid to remove debris, help defray costs of emergency service and repair roads and bridges.

The latest allocation raises the amount of federal money provided to the counties to $1.6 million.
