Today is a holiday for many people: Schools: Public schools closed.

Banks: Most major branches return to normal banking hours.

Mail: Delivery today.

Government offices: State, county and city of Spokane offices closed.

Libraries: Spokane city and county libraries open. County administration office closed.

Parking meters: Must be fed.

Buses: Spokane Transit Authority service on regular schedule.

Garbage: Pickups scheduled for Thursday have been moved to today. Friday pickups moved to Saturday.

Local journalism is essential.
