‘No’ Foils Would-Be Robber

From Staff

A fast-food restaurant clerk who thought an armed robbery was a joke Wednesday foiled the robber by walking away from him, police said.

A man entered Senor Froggy’s, 306 W. Third Ave., about 5:15 p.m. and asked the clerk to make change for a dollar. He then handed the clerk a note that said he had a gun and wanted money, police said.

The clerk said “No,” and turned away. The would-be robber walked out of the restaurant, police said.

The suspect is described as white, 35 to 40 years old, about 6 feet tall, 150 pounds with light brown hair. He wore a dirty baseball cap, a black and white plaid shirt and blue jeans.

Anyone with information about the incident should call Crime Check at 456-2233.
