Post Falls Man Hurt While Felling Tree

A 40-year-old Post Falls man was injured Thursday while felling a tree near the ConSil mine.

Daniel Sims was taken to Kootenai Medical Center with severe back pain, the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Department said. Sims was hit by the top of a tree he was cutting down about 2 miles north of the mine, said sheriff’s Cpl. Mitch Alexander.

A nursing supervisor said Sims was listed in fair condition.
