Thank you for allowing me to represent you in Congress these past four years. We’ve accomplished much, balancing the federal budget for the first time in 30 years, saving Medicare from bankruptcy, reforming welfare, enacting tough anti crime legislation that makes our cities and neighborhoods safer, and lowering taxes.

I have fought to secure funding for vital agriculture research, and authored language that waived sanctions and allowed the sale of our wheat to Pakistan. Resisting efforts to lock up our natural resources, I worked to find a balance that protected jobs and private property rights while respecting legitimate environmental concerns.

I seek your vote so that we can continue working to find solutions for the challenges facing our nation. Protecting Social Security for this and future generations is a high priority with me. Heading a select committee in Congress to evaluate and expand the nation’s medical research efforts to find a cure for diseases like diabetes and cancer is a responsibility I have undertaken with enthusiasm.

Returning education decisions to Washington state parents and educators is an ongoing effort that I support wholeheartedly.

With your endorsement, I will continue to advance the interests of Eastern Washington in Congress and do so with the integrity that reflects our values. I have great passion for this job and work continually to do my best for all the people of the Fifth District. Listening to you, and acting on your ideas and concerns, will continue to be a top priority.
