Free Ride Turns Into Robbery, Carjacking
A Spokane man was carjacked and robbed Thursday in south Spokane, police said.
The incident began about 10:30 p.m. at an East Francis restaurant when the 34-year-old victim offered a ride to two women, officers said.
The three drove to Liberty Park near Third Avenue and Perry. One of the women, who was sitting behind the man in the car, wrapped something around his neck and began choking him, officers said.
The woman in the front seat kicked and punched the man in the face, took his wallet and car keys, then forced him from the car, officers said. The women drove off, heading north on Perry.
The victim was treated for lacerations.
The first suspect is described as white, in her 20s, 5 feet 9 inches tall with brown hair. The victim knew her as Lisa.
The second suspect is described as white, in her 20s, 5 feet 9 inches tall with blonde hair. The victim knew her as Stephanie.
