State legislator 1983-94, former chairwoman of the Senate Children and Family Service Committee and Republican Caucus. Author of state initiatives on campaign finances and state spending limits. Married, two children, six grandchildren.

Education: Graduated Hudson’s Bay High School.

Finances: $3 million in contributions, none from PACs.
