Missing Boater’S Body Recovered By Deputies

Spokane County sheriff’s deputies on Saturday recovered the body of a missing boater from Mason Lake south of Cheney.

Charles E. Brown of Spokane had been missing since a boating accident on Labor Day weekend.

Brown, who didn’t know how to swim, disappeared Sept. 7 after falling out of his boat. The sunken boat was pulled from the lake the next day, but searchers were not able to locate the body.

The search and rescue team finally spotted the body about 8 a.m. Saturday.
