Testing Due For Bone Marrow Donors
The Inland Northwest Blood Center will hold free testing this week for potential bone marrow donors.
Bone marrow transplants can be used to save the lives of people with leukemia and other blood diseases.
Individuals from age 18 to 60 may be tested if they are in good health and not excessively overweight. The donor will be asked to sign a consent form to participate in the National Marrow Donor Program and will have a small blood sample taken for tissue typing.
The testing, which is funded by Cancer and Community Charities of Coeur d’Alene, is from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and the Inland Northwest Blood Center at 2100 Ironwood Court in Coeur d’Alene.
