Former Aide Joins Smith’S Campaign

From Staff

Pat Fiske, who stepped down as Linda Smith’s congressional chief of staff to unsuccessfully seek her old seat, is back on board Smith’s campaign.

Fiske, a former state lawmaker who finished second to Don Benton in a four-way GOP primary in the 3rd Congressional District last week, confirmed that he has signed on as his old boss’s finance director in her Vancouver office.

Republican Smith told The Columbian newspaper that her campaign against Democratic incumbent Patty Murray has attracted national interest and that she will try to hook up with major contributors beyond Washington borders.

Fiske will be joined in the Vancouver and Bellevue operations by fund-raisers who previously worked for Sens. Slade Gorton, R-Wash., and Gordon Smith, R-Ore.
