Lifekeys Classes Offered

Christ Lutheran Church, 13009 E. Broadway, will begin offering a LifeKeys class on Sunday.

The class will be offered at 9:15 a.m. each Sunday and will repeat each Tuesday at 7 p.m. The program will begin with a special introductory session this week.

Subjects that will be discussed during the class include life gifts, spiritual gifts, values, life choices, service and purpose. The class is designed to help people discover who they are and what they do best.

Registrations will be accepted at Sunday’s session and during the following week. The cost of the LifeKeys book is $10. To register or for more information, call the church office at 928-7733.

Program for widows

Widows of all ages are invited to attend the Widows Might program at Valley Fourth Memorial Church, 2303 S. Bowdish. The program begins with a luncheon at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4.

The program, now in its second year, is an interdenominational ministry designed for women who have lost their husbands through death.

Additional meetings are scheduled for 1 to 3 p.m. on Dec. 6, Feb. 7, and April 18.

There is no charge for the luncheon, but reservations are required. Call the church office at 924-4525 to reserve a space.

Humorist at Valley Nazarene

Humorist Jay Carty will speak at a series of special worship services this week at the Spokane Valley Church of the Nazarene, 10814 E. Broadway. The theme of his talks is “Playing With Fire: Do Nice People Really Go to Hell?”

Carty will speak at the 9:30 a.m., 10:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. services on Sunday at 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday.

The church will also host a garage sale today from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Proceeds from the sale will be used to send church youth to the 1999 Youth Congress.

Fall worship schedule

Opportunity Free Methodist Church, 1313 S. Pines, has resumed its fall worship schedule.

Services are now being offered at 9 and 10:30 a.m. each Sunday, with the Christian education hour being held at 10:30 a.m. Child care is available.

Garage sale benefits

Scouts Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 810 S. Sullivan, is hosting a garage sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. today. The sale will benefit Boy Scout Troop 427, which meets weekly at the church.

Car wash

The youth of Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2511 S. Pines, will put on a car wash during the 10:30 a.m. worship service on Sunday. Proceeds will be used to fund various youth group activities.
