Election Discussion

How often do political candidates talk about the same issues that matter most to you, the ones you talk about with friends, co-workers and fellow citizens?

If you’d like to make sure the office-seekers are hearing your concerns - and addressing them - here’s an opportunity to consider.

In partnership with KSPS public television and KPBX public radio, The Spokesman-Review is convening a discussion among interested voters in Eastern Washington’s 5th Congressional District. A dozen or so diverse folks will sit down for a freewheeling conversation, moderated by news director Doug Nadvornick of KPBX, about the issues they consider most important in the congressional election.

The discussion will be taped and excerpts will be used in place of questions when 5th District candidates - incumbent Republican George Nethercutt, Democrat Brad Lyons and American Heritage candidate John Beal - debate live on KSPS on Oct. 29.

To be considered for participation in this project, please write a letter telling us something about yourself, your interests, your concerns and why you’d like to take part. Send it by Sept. 30 to:
