Racing Openers Rained Out Again

For a second week in a row, rain washed out racing at Stateline Speedway Saturday night. They’ll try again to launch the season this coming Saturday night.

Showers on Sunday also wiped out the season opening drag and stock car races at Spokane Raceway Park.

Lewis wins at Evergreen

Gary Lewis continued his dominance at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe as the 1998 Raybestos Brakes Northwest Series, NASCAR Touring champion opened the 1999 season with another win at the .646-mile oval. Lewis, who won both 1998 series events at Evergreen Speedway, swept past three-time series champion Garrett Evans on lap 15 to take command of the race.
