Four Teams Share First

GSL boys soccer

Twelve-time champion Mead helped create a four-way tie for first place in the Greater Spokane League on Wednesday.

Mead (2-2), however, is one of three teams tied for fifth place, one win back of the leaders.

Danny Dolan and Tim Shea scored second-half goals in Mead’s 3-1 win at Ferris (3-1). Aaron Crary scored for Ferris, which opened the day with a one-win lead over the field.

North Central (3-1) moved into the first-place tie with a 1-0 win over visiting Shadle Park (2-2). Aaron Fielder fed Owen Turnbull for the winning goal at 65 minutes.

Bobby Labelle scored 4 minutes into overtime as Mt. Spokane (3-1) defeated visiting Gonzaga Prep 1-0 to join the first-place logjam.

Labelle scored from a short distance after Chris Snyder’s throw-in. G-Prep is 1-3.

Andy Sather had two goals and one assist on the final three scores, and Central Valley (3-1) also moved into first place after a 4-2 win over visiting University (2-2).

CV’s Travis Johnson had nine saves. League scoring leader Grant Falco of U-Hi scored in the second half.

Lance Strasser scored the first and final goals as Lewis and Clark (1-3) notched a 6-0 win at Rogers (0-4).
