From Staff

Spokane firefighters are investigating a fire that destroyed a vacant home Sunday in West Central Spokane, fire officials said.

Police called firefighters to 1014 N. Maple about 7:10 a.m. Sunday after discovering the fire while out on a routine call, firefighters said.

Flames had engulfed the home when firefighters arrived. It took about 90 minutes to knock down the blaze, which was burning on the roof and inside the walls of the home, firefighters said. No one was injured.
