Fly fishing

Women and men are invited to join this year’s day-long fly-fishing clinic, May 15, sponsored by the North Idaho Fly Casters.

The clinic, taught by 15 experienced club members, is billed as a non-threatening, relaxed way to learn more about the sport. The session is from 8:45 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at Harding Center in Coeur d’Alene.

Topics start with the basics of gear, entomology, knots, reading the water and where and how to fish. Casting instruction also is provided.

Cost is $35. Profits dedicated to local fly fishing conservation projects.

To register, send your name, address and telephone number, plus $35 and a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Ann Seddon, NIFC, 1352 Hull Road, Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814.
