Toys R Us Inc. will turn its Web sales operation into a separate subsidiary called toysrus.com, build a large distribution center in Memphis, Tenn., and possibly sell stock for the unit.

Fatbrain.com Inc. said it has been selected to create an online bookstore for users of Microsoft Corp.’s newly launched Windows NT Server Web site.

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. has named Alex Yemenidjian, 43, its new chairman and chief executive officer, replacing Frank Mancuso, who is stepping down after six years at the helm.
